Welcome to my hydroponics page. Created on 03-19-05
update:
5/13/2007 I am not currently growing anything hydroponically. The Air pump
failed and was not replaced.
Here are some pictures and descriptions of my system and its accessories.
This is my General Hydroponics
WATERFARM®
system. I bought it locally at Grace's Hydro-Organic
My system currently has 1 pepper plant growing in it.

A closer look at the pepper plant. The white leaves in the corner are a couple bamboo shoots that failed. Just ignore them.

I don't have any professional lights, but I do have a cheap incandescent plant light and a cheap florescent light. Got them both at Wal-Mart.

My nutrients. Add this stuff to the water in the proper proportions and ordinary tap water becomes plant fuel. No dirt required.

Here is my PH kit. It includes the tester as well as PH up and PH down to modify the PH if it to high or low. A PH of 5.5 - 6.5 is said to be good.

My timer. Automatically turns my lights on and off. Got it from Wal-Mart.

So does this hydro stuff really work? It seems to. This is what my pepper plant looked like when I first bought it. The picture at the top of this page was taken about 20 days later.

News: My grandfather gave me a 50 watt high pressure sodium light. It's not exactly an agricultural light but I'm hoping it will put out the correct frequency of light anyways.

Instead of spending a hundred bucks on a reflector I put some foil around it.

04-01-05 This thing seems to have buds on it now. I may post pics later.

Cost break down:
Main system (comes with nutrients) and ph test/adjustment kit. = about $70.00
Grow lights (both combined) = about $15.00
Timer: Digital. stores up to 20 on/off settings. = About $15.00
High pressure sodium light = free
Total= about $100.00.... These better be some good peppers.
